Sound suddenly not available

The system had sound initially. Went back to YouTube, no sound at all. Speaker Icon states: no output or input devices found . Then under Menu: Device: Audio: pactl tool required, find it with package manager, I may have found it under slightly different name.

I thought the speakers were a little tinny at first, they used to be quite full with an old windows system, but they were OK, they worked.

Now they don’t do anything for anything. It was a very sudden change.

I saw a lot of forum references to use Bluetooth or wired speakers.

HP Omen notebook. I think it’s a problem build. Like the machine manufacturer doesn’t like the switch up. HP is very different.

To plug and play or not to plug and play.

Hi, which operating system is your HP Omen notebook using? If possible provide output of:
pactl info and pactl list cards

Also output of inxi -Aa . Depending on OS, WirePlumber info can help too > wpctl status. If OS using systemD then provide output of this command also > systemctl --user list-units | egrep -i "wire|pulse"

-Best Regards
