Steam app can't open broadcast on Linux!

Hello,

I can’t watch broadcasts with Steam on my KDE neon system. This doesn’t only apply to the Steam application, I can’t watch broadcasts in Firefox and Chrome.

Can anyone help me with this?

Operating System: KDE neon 6.3
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.13.0
Qt Version: 6.9.0
Kernel Version: 6.11.0-25-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 8-Core Processor
Memory: 15.5 GB of RAM
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT

Hi - just to check, are you referring specifically to videos in the Steam app and on the Steam website in all applications, or are the broadcasts that aren’t working in Firefox and Chrome from other websites or sources?

Hello, I guess I didn’t express myself well.

The problem I’m talking about is that I can’t watch broadcasts via the Steam app or the Steam website. When I open the broadcasts, it says “loading…” and waits forever.

Thanks - hmm, do other online video sources work as expected?

Yes. The other videos work fine in both steam app and web browsers (Firefox, chrome). The problem is only with steam broadcasts.

Hmm, that’s strange - I can see those types of broadcast videos on a KDE Neon virtual machine. Others here might have ideas, and it might also be worth checking with the Steam community support forums as well

Thank you for your attention. I’ve asked for help on the Steam support community forums, but no one seems interested.

I did some searching on the internet to see if I could find anything, but I couldn’t find anything.

Maybe someone here can help.

I think the problem seems to be fixed with the latest updates.
