Suspension does not turn off USB device

I have a USB DAC connected to my computer, but by suspending the PC, the DAC is still on. This does not happen with devices such as external hard drives, which are easily turned off. Any idea? I don’t even know where to start looking.

Thanks.

This text is software translated, so I hope you will be understanding of the possible nonsense.

did you look in your firmware settings for standby USB power?

or look for something called ERP setting and turn that on… it will disable your usb ports during hibernation.

Excluded from USB suspension in TLP?

Could you tell me where those firmware settings are? I look at System Settings app but I find nothing about firmware, the closest thing I see is in Information Center, a section “Security of firmware” -automatic translation, I don’t know if it’s actually called that way in English, sorry- which, as logical, contains only information, nothing modifiable.

I don’t know. What’s TLP?

the firmware is the bios that comes with your motherboard.

usually you can hit DEL or some other key while the system is booting to access it.

See here or here.

If you didn’t know it (and nobody had set up the machine for you) you won’t have it installed, so don’t worry.

Oh, right. I thought you were referring to some tool that would allow to control the firmware of my audio device. I’ll take a look at the BIOS/UEFI of my board, although I guess that if the external hard drives do shut down when I suspend the problem must not come from there. I’ll keep an eye on it though. Thanks.

Ah, no, nothing to do. This is a desktop PC. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
