Tagging videos for later use in CamtrapR

Hi. I am trying to tag videos for later use in camtrapR. I have followed the instructions about setting up digiKam to tag video but do not see tags anywhere in the video metadata.

I am running digiKam v 8.8.0.
I have set the behaviour to use exiftool to read and write to the metadata.
Sidecars are unchecked.
Exiftool is enabled and running version 13.36.
I have tagged a sample set of AVI videos.

Here is where I am lost. When I hover over the video thumbnail in digiKam, I see the tags under digiKam properties. However, when I open the Metatdata tag on the right sidebar the tags do not appear anywhere. In the metadata box under exifpro I only see information under Composite, File and RIF but no tag names. Also, there is no HierarchicalSubject line in the metadata which I expected to see, and that camtrapR would read if these were images.

Any pointers to what I have done wrong/why the tag names do not appear to be written to the metadata and how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. I’ve looked in the manuals and trawled the forums etc, but to no avail.

Thanks Alan

Here is the metadata from CamtrapR for one of the tagged videos.
