There are two ways to tag files:
One is, you can open a file’s entry submenu, then click on ‘Add Tags’ and tick on an existing tag or add a new tag. Unfortunately this window closes after one tick .
I found a second way:
I can enlight a file, open its submenu, click on 'properties, then on ‘details’, and ‘tags’. Here I recieve a window with tags including an ‘Apply’ button.
But when I tick an existing tag or add a new tag then the existing tag or the new tag names are preceeded and followed by a ‘/’ (slash).
Those tag names are not compatible with thetag names described in the first method.
Finally these slash-tags are added to the flag list, so I have the same tag twice, one without slash and with ‘/’ as well?
Can you help me?
Richard
Can you provide a screenshot of the issue to make it clearer.
Tags in dophin can form a tree, with sub-tags, / are here to denote the difference between “parent” tag and a sub-tag.
Here is a screen recording:
When adding a tag from the file info panel a ‘/’ is added to the tag. Clicking on the tag name in the info panel also cuts off the first letter of the tag. Also, previously tagged files are not searchable by clicking on a tag folder (on the left).
Basically tags do not seem to work on kde6 (for me anyway).
By the way, where is the right place to file a bug for tags, under dolphin or baloo? or somewhere else?
tag:/
is provided by baloo, but dolphin would be fine to report to.
We can requalify the bug once we know if that’s UI/dialog issue or a backend tag:/
issue.
Okay, thank you!
