Hi,
Trying to install Kubuntu 26.04 on old asus laptop. Boot stuck on error “Temporary failure resolving [archive.ubuntu.com](http://archive.ubuntu.com)”, even if I plug ethernet cable. How to fix this?

live usb dns dying like that is usually NetworkManager never got a resolver, even w/ a cable plugged.

id try from a terminal on the live session:
-ip link
-nmcli device status
-nmcli device connect \<ethernet\_iface\>
-resolvectl status
-ping -c2 1.1.1.1
-ping -c2 [archive.ubuntu.com](http://archive.ubuntu.com)

if 1.1.1.1 works but [archive.ubuntu.com](http://archive.ubuntu.com) fails:
-echo “nameserver 1.1.1.1” | sudo tee /etc/resolv.conf
-then retry the installer / sudo apt update

if even 1.1.1.1 fails, the live session never got a dhcp lease. try another port/cable or:
-sudo dhclient -v
