The Desktop stop showing Desktop items if all items are moved out or deleted

Apparently it’s a bug only on my end.
Has anyone experienced this?

Interesting, is that in 6.6? I did everything I could to make that happen in 6.6 on my Arch workstation and I couldn’t find a way to duplicate it.

Are there any hidden files in ~/Desktop?

No. There’s no hidden items there.

I noticed this shortly after the reboot after installing 6.6.0 and on the off chance I switch the desktop view and switched it back and it corrected itself.

Looks like it comes back again after a reboot and has to be toggled again.

OK looks like this does not require a reboot / logoff to misbehave. I needed to take a couple of screenshot for a issue with Jellyfin and I normally save them to the Desktop cause more times than not I do not need to keep them. Just noticed that the desktop items are not viewable again and I have not done a reboot nor logoff since last toggling the view setting for the Desktop.

Decided to report the issue:
