The latest update (2026-01-15) screwed up SDDM. After a usual reboot, I was greeted with a generic SDDM screen without any KDE theme. On the next reboot the SDDM screen became this:
Is this neon goo color normal for this build?

What? It looks exactly like the old SDDM, only with this radioactive wallpaper.
Now I have a black screen…
The first issue is SDDM inappropriately still being used, which is tracked by plasma-login-manager isn't enabled after 16ef8791e0ab6b8862db573027213f60468c979a (#475) · Issues · KDE Linux / KDE Linux · GitLab
The blown-out visuals are a bug in plasma-login-manager which is being actively investigated.
Sorry for the trouble here, and bear with us as we sort out the integration issues!
SDDM does not work in this build (why?). I re-enabled plasmalogin.service via the terminal…
For time being, I re-enabled the SDDM due to the bad rendering of the icons below the password input box.
re-installing SDDM might help
The neon goo colour is not intentional. It will be changed soon.
UPD: in the latest build (202601151821) it is finally possible to change the login screen image.
