Theme keeps changing from Breeze to Breeze Dark

While using KDE Plasma my theme keeps changing (seemingly randomly) between Breeze and Breeze Dark. To rectify it I open up Global Theme in System Settings and set Breeze, click Apply, and things are fine. One way I can trigger it reliably is closing all instances of Dolphin and opening it again…then I’ll see the Dolphin window has Breeze Dark for almost all elements, but the file selection area will actually still have a white background (creating quite a problem, as Breeze Dark has white text).

Why is this changing and how can I make my theme remain consistent?

Again today Breeze Dark keeps trying to claw its way back onto my system. Elements of applications (like Konsole) still have a dark background in spots, like the toolbar.
