When downloading a theme from the “Get new” page, and then applying it, OR when applying an exported global theme of my own, the panel and widget layouts are not being applied.
Icons will change, or the colour, but the size, and shape remain. Specifically with my custom exported global theme, the height of the panels does not get applied correctly. I’m new to KDE so i can’t say if this was happening before 6.5 or not.
Why would I care if some bloke added a fixed panel size in his global theme? I set my panel size thank you. I use the icon size I want, thank you. Seriously, what good would that do to someone with a huge monitor or someone with a tiny notebook. Basically, a global theme consists of, what, some ssdm layout, some colorscheme and a few bits and bops. Adding a fixed this and that size sounds….totalitarian
Btw. I’ve never, ever even tried a global theme. This is one of the reasons. Didn’t take long for me to make my own plasma theme, gtk theme and what not. Because I DON’T want fixed.
If you’re not using global themes or installing themes created by other users, then this topic is completely irrelevant to you. It is odd to have import capabilities for some styling features, but not others. It is inconsistent design.
