First of all, I apologize if I’m posting this in the wrong place. I wasn’t real sure where to put it.
I just wanted to point something out that I’ve noticed ever since switching from Kubuntu 25.04 to 25.10 as it relates to searching for 3rd party themes, plasma, icons, etc.
The method I’ve always used for getting these things is by going into the “system settings” and accessing them from there, and then I would click on “get new” which would bring up different options to choose from. On 25.10 (I’m sure because it’s newer and everything must be switched over to Wayland) I’ve noticed there isn’t near the selection that existed under 25.04 which is understandable.
However, I’ve recently figured out that if I search for different customization’s using Discover instead of going through System settings, there is more of a selection to choose from. For instance, there are Plasma options through Discover that don’t even seem to exist when using the system settings method. Is there a reason for this or is it just “work in progress”?
Unfortunately for some time before the push for Wayland the selection was getting smaller and smaller on all items downloaded through the get more function.
I was just under the impression that using the “get new” method was the same thing as going through Discover meaning whichever method you decided to use, you’d ultimately end up at the same place. Now, it seems like that is incorrect since one offers more options than the other.
No it’s not the same thing BUT you should be getting the same results nontheless. I have SCREAMED for them to get it fixed and always to what seems deaf ears. Now luckily for arch at least osc-url installs and works like a charm for installing directly from the store.

“Get New” has gotten smaller and smaller over the years. Compared to installing manually through the KDE Store and Pling websites, "Get New " is pretty much useless.

Get New needs to be fixed badly cause the Pling Store site can be a joke and the Pling Store app is almost completely useless.
I agree. I was looking at the pling store today and found a “window decorator” theme I liked on like the 2nd or 3rd page. Then I noticed that nothing has happened with it in 15 years. 15 YEARS!!! Like, are you kidding me?
That is not what any of us were referring to. We were referring to the fact that the desktop store can be unstable and install is not always available in the online store.
