Recently, after applying an icon theme, I noticed an animation effect on my taskbar icons when I click on them. This animation—a spinning blue cogwheel over the icon—indicates that the application is loading. However, I really dislike this animation, and it took me several days to figure out how to disable it.
I find the location of this option very un-intuitive, and I suggest reconsidering its placement. To disable the loading animation on taskbar icons, you need to go to:
I think it doesn’t only work for the taskbar: the loading animation is for any application that’s being opened. For example, I have an application that runs on startup without me clicking anything and I see the animation when the pc boots up. This means that the option should be in the taskbar settings.
I’d remove “System Settings” from your list: any settings is usually in “System Settings”, therefore it doesn’t help much gauge how long it takes to reach the option.
This is a feature of the pointer; where do you think it would be more intuitive to place the option?
