This week was busy! We’ve got some great new features to share, improved theming compatibility, UI improvements, bug fixes… and lots more! This is one of those weeks with a bit of something for everyone — even people who are picky about software dependencies. Take a look:
Any chance https:// invent.kde. org/plasma/plasma-desktop/-/merge_requests/2401 (kcms/dateandtime: Add setting for locaton-based timezone setting) will finally land? [Delete the spaces to access the link]
As regards the special characters thing: How do you differentiate between holding a key to bring up the related characters and holding a key to repeat input?
On current plasma-virtual-keyboard, with the overlay active, it first triggers the overlay, and if you keep holding it, the overlay closes again and it does repeat.
If you’re a heavy user of repeat, you probably still want it off as it increases the time you need to hold it to trigger repeat substantially, but if you only occasionally need it, you can have both.
