This Week in Plasma: Great Stuff for 6.4 - KDE Blogs

So - as with people who used Latte - what would be interesting would be to find anything (which you actually use) that exists in one without the other.

I think my favourite would be:
spectacle -rectangle -upload

So for the rectangle, we have spectacle -rb.

However, there’s no straightforward way - apart from capturing the image, and then click Export, followed by Share - getting awkward now, next menu slide down to imgur.

The one feature I’d like is to be able to bind the entire command;

Take a screenshot (rectangle’s good, or maybe active window) and give me an imgur URL without messing about with previews.

'coz this be clunky past the Export… I don’t like mousing about like that.

Flameshot works every time. I never see an error like this:

spectacle An error occurred while taking a screenshot. KWin screenshot request failed: The process is not authorized to take a screenshot Potentially relevant information: - Method: CaptureScreen - Method specific arguments: “DP-5” KWin screenshot request failed: The process is not authorized to take a screenshot Potentially relevant information: - Method: CaptureScreen - Method specific arguments: “DP-7”

Sometimes Spectacle works. Sometimes not. I’ve tried removing local .desktop file. I tried reinstalling Spectacle. It’s still a problem.

Operating System: KDE neon 6.3
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.11.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2
Kernel Version: 6.11.0-19-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

Graphics Processor 1: Mesa Intel® Arc
Graphics Processor 2: llvmpipe

Spectacle works every time. I never saw an error like that (used Plasma now for 8 years).

That’s some kind of permission error, probably not related to spectacle.

Actually roughly 3 or 4 years back there was a common issue with Spectacle would not work.

I might trace it down, but not sure when. Thanks for the help anyways

Thank you, I don’t think I’d heard of this. Sounds useful!
