This Week in Plasma: Let the Polishing Begin - KDE Blogs

Welcome to a new issue of This Week in Plasma!

This week, Plasma folks shifted to bug-fixing and polishing work for Plasma 6.8. As of the time of writing, there are only four open regression reports for Plasma 6.8, which means either the release is already amazing, or people aren’t testing the beta release enough! You know what you need to do. :)

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://blogs.kde.org/2026/09/19/this-week-in-plasma-let-the-polishing-begin/

Maybe in the future give us the ability to decide how close the icons are. This has been a big issue with those that don’t want too little spacing, while ones like myself would cut the spacing in half.

Was minimizing/maximizing windows crash I reported via DrKonqi fixed?

@ngraham Nate… global menu under Krita is broken (again)!!!

What’s up with this??? Why is Krita affected while dolphin and others are OK??? What’s the reason for this??? (they’re all Qt…)

Oh and, as always, it’s amazing the amount of work people do! It really shows that we’re much more productive when we’re doing something we like!!! Thank you all

Completely agree.

Really nice to see the black screen at boot issue (if your monitor wasn’t turned on or available/powered) finally resolved. I can stop leaving my monitor in low powermode now.
