Trans distro desktop mobility

I’m runing 6 distros, half of them plasma the other half xfce but eventually all major ones will offer the choice of both desktops at log-in (like openSuse does already). So if I’m looking at 6 plasma desktops to tweak then I’m also looking for ways to simplify that task. Which kde files can I migrate back and forth between distros? What I’m actually after (eventually) is a remote folder containing all such files to which links in all the real user directories would point. Such fies should not contain any qualified paths, needless to say, and I wanty all my kde desktops to look as identical as possible.

people usually sync a short list, not the whole ~/.config.

safe-ish:
-plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc
-plasmashellrc / plasmarc
-kwinrc
-kdeglobals
-.local/share/plasma (themes / plasmoids)
-color-schemes + icons under .local/share

dont sync session restore / ksmserverrc / kwallet, and scrub wallpapers that hardcode /home/user/…

live symlinks for the share dirs can work. for the config files i usually rsync a curated list after login cause plasma rewrites paths when it saves. konsave packages that if you dont want to hand pick.

Thanks, some of those files I don’t use at all like kdewalet and my wallpapers have for decades been custom made and linked because for one thing they’re the only clues that tell me what distro I have running. So are all my rc’s like katerc and konsolerc. Not only that, but I’ve used a linked “0” (zero) folder for decades into which go ALL my own files that are not to be found in a newly created user home for example. This way the system will never step on them. The files you list will help me make more links and I’ll be doing the same with xfce. I use wallpapers like this one which tell me it’s tumbleweed on partition 14 of my T480 laptop.
