Transform bugs I've found

I’ve been running into a few bugs with the transform.

  1. When I am on a key frame. I am not able to move the frame in the x,y,z space in the project monitor. I have to click onto another effect and click back in order for me to move the frame.

  2. I tend to use multiple transforms in a clip. Sometimes I lose all the data on one of the transform effects on a clip. The key frame position in time are still there but the (x,y size) gets completely deleted. What makes it weirder. Is that I am not able to undo for it to revert the data back. It is just gone.

  3. If using multiple transforms on images that are not the size as the project resolution (like an png of a person standing). If I hit the “adjust and center frame button” it usually adjusts the size to something 50% instead of 100%.

I’ve seen a few variations of this, including ‘phantom’ keyframes where you can see ‘uncommanded’ changes taking place between two keyframes and other oddball effects.

It has the feeling of a general memory corruption issue rather than an actual ‘bug’ in the handling of a “transform”, and usually is a sign to restart kdenlive and begin again cleanly from the last saved point …

If you’ve got a reliable way to reproduce it, or can make it happen while running under a memory integrity trace like valgrind or similar that might be a useful bug report.

This is a whole class of “well known” issues resulting from how kdenlive currently handles clips with a different resolution to the project - fixing it is on the mid-term roadmap.
