Trying to configure KWallet broke the User

Hi.

Firstly: My issue is already resolved, but the experience was so… Well. Not enjoyable, that I thought I’d leave a note.

I apologize if this isn’t the place for it.

I’d been using a gpg encrypted wallet and gotten tired of having to enter passwords for wifi after login.
I found that to get to my desired state, I’d need to switch my setup to use blowfish with kwallet-pam.

I thought I could get away with only moving the wifi passwords, and ran into my first serious issue:

The export/import of KDwallet is an experience. And I gave up.

Moving on, I tried to configure the system to use separate wallets for applications and for local passwords.

Somewhere along the way – something broke – and suddenly I was getting “USER not in sudoers file” (this had been working fine until then).

I never figured out, exactly, what caused my issues - I ended up logging into root, deleting and recreating the user and completely disabling the kwallet system.

It’s a shame, but I don’t think I’ll be trying out this system again for a while.
