Twitter videos block sleep mode (since Plasma 6.2)

I tried to switch to Gnome. The bug also appears.

This cements the fact that it’s a Firefox bug.

I think you’re right. I downgraded Firefox to 124.0.1. This fixed the problem in both Gnome and KDE.

Now I see the bug has been reported: 1927187 - 131.0.3 on Fedora KDE Wayland leaks "video-playing" preventing screen lock/sleep

Thank you very much.

I was looking for bugs about this in Mozilla, but failed to locate that one - thanks for pointing at it.

My situation was never as bad as that - worse I had was 3 or 4 video locks, and after a browser restart the problem had yet to materialize - though I haven’t been doing a lot of video watching lately. I’ll keep an eye on it.

Firefox 132.0.1 got released

Fixed issues causing intermittent video playback problems on some sites. [Bug 1928484], [Bug 1928798]

Not sure if that counts as video playback problems, video related for sure. As I can not read the specific Bug reports, it says “access denied, you have to login” - no, thanks.

According to the reports in Firefox bug 1927187, Firefox 132 is susceptible to this issue, but the current development version does not exhibit it - so it would probably be resolved when Firefox 133 is released - currently scheduled for November 25th.
