Much like when using a browser, it would be very helpful if I could two finger swipe forward and back to navigate folders. (Using the same functionality you get when pressing ALT+LEFT/RIGHT)

What happens if you can scroll horizontally across files and folders because the view is hiding some information outside the window?
Oooh you got me there. I see why that’s a limitation. I don’t often have a view where this happens 
I rescind my suggestion as I cannot think of a way around this.
I found some horizontal scrolling pages online to test out how browsers handle this issue and they just switch to horizontal scrolling only when the horizontal scrolling is there.
Could we potentially add this functionality so that if there’s no horizontal scroll bar it works and is disabled when a scroll is there? Would be a big help for my uses (photography, tons of photos across a large file tree)
