Unable to build the Discover app using kdesrc-build

Greetings !!!

After setting up the kdesrc build and running the kcalc app successfully…

I have decided to give it a try on the discover app…

I have used this command :- kdesrc-build discover…

and this was the error …

maybe this is not the right way to build the discover app, need some help, thanks.

Try installing gpgme from your distro and add --ignore-modules gpgme to the end of your kdesrc-build call, as mentioned in Building KDE software with kdesrc-build | Developer

gpgme is third party software that is well known to fail compiling and they more or less rejected KDE’s attempts to fix it, which is unfortunate, but not your fault.

Hey, Thanks for reaching out !!!

I was having the same discussion in the matrix chat of kde, and found the same solution for this.

well, There were two uncertain events occured …

  1. build failed for appsteam… but it was soon resolved by sudo apt build-dep appstream

  2. build failed for the last pkg named discover and here is the error log

I use KDE NEON btw…

it has been resolved the system needed qcoro-qt6-dev

this command needed to be run sudo apt install qcoro-qt6-dev
