Trying to move my Kmail setup to a new machine.
Found the Tools/Import-Export on the old machine and it’s happily created a 1.8GB file
Moved over to the new machine, launched PimDataExporter and …it wont find the file, because the export created a file without extension, the importer expects “.zip”
Well, figured that one out, just a small usability issue.
So I renamed the file to kmailbackup.zip which makes the importer find the file. but even when the file is found and the “make sure no other PIM apps are running” and folder selection is confirmed it gets back with “Unable to open file: …”
- The file opens fine in Dolphin (Ark) and shows a realistic folder structure
- I checked and reset access rights
- Copied the file to a different location
- Created a second file
…but no success.
Anyone got an idea what I might be doing wrong?
I would really hate to manually set up all the bells and whistles I created in KMail over the last 5 years.
