Unable to paste from host to VirtualBox guest after 6.5 update

Hi all,

Just as the topic implies, the shared clipboard in VirtualBox no longer works after upgrading to 6.5. I can copy from guest to host just fine, but not host to guest. Before creating a bug, I wanted to check if anyone else has experienced this or if it is just me.

Thanks!

I think I am experiencing this bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=511063

I have the same issue in games that arent native, but I can paste in native games (Like CS2)

I’m facing this issue as well, I’ve tested this against Debian, Ubuntu, Arch, Kali, Windows 10 and Windows 11 virtual machines, all have latest guest additions and extension pack installed

  • There has been no change in my system’s configuration before and after finding this bug, except upgrading to 6.5.0-1, the new 6.5.0-2 kwin update doesnt seem to fix this
  • Guest to Host Clipboard is shared flawlessly, however Host to Guest just doesn’t

However, Bidrectional Clipboard sharing works well in QEMU/KVM virtual machines that have spice agent installed, not sure if this information helps but here it is.

Hello,

I am experiencing the same on Fedora 42 KDE 6.5.1. Have you been able to test 6.5.2? The bug is marked as fixed there.

Thank you!

KDE 6.5.2 landed in Fedora 42 today. Upgrading fixed the problem.
