Unable to update to 202609190254 from 202609180254

Hello, as the title suggests, I am unable to update to the latest image. updatectl says there are no updates:

$ updatectl check
No updates available.
$ updatectl list host
  VERSION      STATUS
● 202609180254 current

Latest image in https://files.kde.org/kde-linux/?C=M;O=D

Running with run0 tells me the following:

Determining installed update sets…
Determining available update sets…
No update needed.

Does this mean there actually are no updates? Appreciate your time and any answers!

There’s an image, but the metadata in SHA256SUMS hasn’t been updated with it, so the updater doesn’t see it.

Let me find out more.

So:

The 202609190254 image built successfully, but long-story-short, it didn’t get fully uploaded to the servers. I think downloading the ISO would work for new installs, but - like you found - the updater isn’t seeing it properly.

We’re looking at some alternative approaches that would make that last part of the pipeline more reliable.

That said, the 20260919 image didn’t contain any significant changes from the previous image, so you’re not losing a lot by sticking with that previous one.

20260920 will contain bigger changes (we got a fresh rebuild of KDE packages for the first time in a few days), but before publishing that we’re investigating a failure in the QA testing. Could be a false positive, but we don’t know that for sure yet.

Things are certainly still a bit bumpy day to day as you can see, but in general we hold off from just mechanically pushing new images if we have test issues that we need to look at.

Thanks for everyone’s patience!

Thank you so much for handling this, @pg-tips! It’s really appreciated.

We concluded that it was indeed a false positive, so we went ahead and published 202609200254.

Now we’re onto the next build infrastructure issue to deal with, so no 20260921 image, and no 20260922 for now at least.
