Hello, I’m using openSUSE Tumbleweed and I faced an issue which severely impacted my daily workflow (e.g. TigerVNC’s w0vncserver and KDE Connect’s mouse/keyboard remote input don’t work anymore).
Following xwaylandvideobridge’s archiving, the package got automatically removed from my system during one of the latest system updates.
I can’t install it anymore because it was removed from all openSUSE’s repositories, and manually installing old .rpm packages has proven to be problematic because of missing old dependencies.
So I tried to compile it from source. I succeeded, it seems, because now I can run ./xwaylandvideobridge. Unfortunately, this does exactly nothing. Not even a message in the console, zero.
Yes. On my desktop, every checkbox is enabled in KDE Connect settings. I even tried to uncheck and check again each option relative to the remote control, this didn’t fix it. Everything else works (e.g. clipboard sharing, notifications sync, etc).
On the VNC side, w0vncserver (that is, “TigerVNC for Wayland”, or better for DEs that support xdg-desktop-portal) says ”No remote desktop implementation found.”. I know this one isn’t related to KDE at all, but might help to catch the underlying issue. It worked flawlessly a few weeks ago.
