Virtual keyboard doesn't work on lock screen

When I lock my screen, if I click on “Virtual Keyboard” button it shows nothing, is this a new behavior for non touch screens?

Operating System: Manjaro Linux rolling
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.8.0
Qt Version: 6.8.0
Kernel Version: 6.12.1-2-MANJARO (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

I do not believe this behaviour is intentional.
I installed a virtual keyboard via the package manager, and then enabled it via System Settings → Keyboard → Virtual Keyboard, but it still does not display a virtual keyboard when the button is clicked on the lock screen.
