Virtual Keyboard Reactivates and affects Keypress repetition

So, my machine running 6.7.0 (Frameworks version 6.27.0, QT 6.11.1) re-activates the virtual keyboard on a host reboot.

I got into settings, set the virtual keyboard to “None” and after a reboot it then re-activates and defaults back to “Plasma keyboard”.

This is amazingly annoying since attempting to long-press (repeat) a key results in either nothing (konsole), or a pop-up for different accented letters.
… Why isn’t this a hotkey? Meta + hold, or Alt + hold?

But more than that: why is the setting not remaining off like I want it to be?

Seems like this bug:

Until then, to work around this, disable the “Alternate characters - Show popup when holding a key” in the “On-Screen Keyboard” page.

Thanks for that - I missed the option for the pop-up (hopefully that stays disabled).
