I’m scared of pausing when watching a video on VLC! After I play, the sound doesn’t exist. I have to close the video and open it again, and it’s pretty annoying when I have movie time with the family.
This is more likely a issue with something in your OS rather than the desktop shell you’re running. I suggest you post a help request on your OS’s forum , discord channel, or whatever they use to provide enduser help.
Oh, I see. Got it. Thanks.
You are using Fedora linux?
Yes. Do you use Fedora? Facing the same problem?
I haven’t encountered this exact problem before, but I did have other issues. For example, instead of video, I saw a slideshow, and the sound was playing as if from a different video.
The issue was with the ffmpeg version: the default is ffmpeg-free (fully FOSS), so I think you might have the same problem. I don’t understand why YouTubers recommending Fedora Linux don’t mention this
-
Install RPM Fusion nonfree
https://rpmfusion.org/Configuration -
Switch to full ffmpeg version + Hardware Accelerated Codec
Making sure you're not a bot! -
Reboot your system
Okay, I’ll try this. Thank you.
Go with SMPlayer or Cine pretty much the only two when you can make them use every bit of screen on almost any video unlike the rest of the pkayers.
Tried them, but they have problems when I forward or rewind.
Hey, did all this. But the problem still persists.
