Hi,
I seem to have a problem with keyboard layouts and IBUS under Wayland.
I have been using the Keyboard Layout applet happily to switch between the two layouts I had configured: English and Hungarian. When I restarted the system, however, IBUS started to nag me about how my configuration is wrong and that I should “apply” the IBUS Wayland option in Virtual Keyboard and then to unset QT_IM_MODULE and GTK_IM_MODULE. These weren’t set in any of my configuration files, but I found a thread ( iBus issue with Wayland ) that suggested to remove the im-config package. Doing that silenced the complaints, but then I wasn’t able to switch between the two layouts. I could seemingly; the applet would react to both clicking and the keyboard shortcut with changing its label, but the keyboard actually remained English (so pressing;would just result in a “;”, not “é” as it should have with the Hungarian layout).
When I reinstalled im-config, everything has gone back to how it was before: layout switching works, but IBUS complains. I am just wondering if there is a way to reconcile the two.
