What's going on with the scaling of widgets under Plasma 6?

I like to run a thin panel at the top of the screen, with a height of 30 (px? Not too sure as there’s no scale beside the figure). Under Plasma 5.27 all my widgets scaled accordingly, and looked perfect with no elements missing. With the advent of Plasma 6, widget scaling is totally broken - All elements are visible at around 40px, I can run thermal monitor and CPU, GPU and SSD headings are all shown along with the three temperature readouts, but drop the panel size to 30px and the headings disappear and all I’m left with is the three temperatures with no idea what they relate to. Furthermore, it’s not just the thermal monitor widget showing the problem, the netspeed widget can no longer be displayed with upload and download speeds above one another, instead upload and download speeds have to be shown beside one another.

I can go on regarding widgets that fail to scale below a certain size, it’s an issue that seems to affect all widgets that wasn’t a problem under 5.27.

Has something changed or do I have a font related issue? Advice appreciated. Running a 27" 4k monitor with scaling at 150%.

There were a number of issues with System Monitor widget layouts on panels in Plasma 6.1. To my knowledge, they’re all fixed for Plasma 6.2 already. At least, all the bug reports we got about this for 6.1 are now marked as fixed in 6.2.

If you can test with current git master somehow (e.g. with Neon Developer, Fedora Rawhide, etc) and see if you’ve still got any issues, that would be super helpful.

I think you’re talking about the system monitor widgets like the one’s below (what I’m currently running):

I’m talking about the Thermal Monitor widget, see below (This is how it looked under 5.27 with a panel of 30px):

As you can see, there’s no text description highlighting just what the readings relate to. However, if I increase the panel size to ~40px, all of a sudden the text descriptions appear.

I’d rather not run Neon Developer Edition on my main PC if I can help it.
