Just wondering, how are these effects deprecated? Does this mean they’re going away at some point? Curious, because WEATHER MAN uses many of these deprecated effects while creating weather forecast videos.

Deprecated means that they are no longer maintained. They still work but no bug fixing or enhancements to be expected.
