What's the trick or tip on cloning a desktop setup (wallpaper, taskbar & taskbar widgets) across displays?

If you have several displays and had to access any one display (not the others) it sucks when you look at the taskbar and it’s just not there. If there is a taskbar there, the application launcher and task manager is not in sync and may be missing what you’re looking for (especially favorites).

Is there a way to go to a new display and literally clone the wallpaper and taskbar (including widgets)?

But not just clone it, change one and change them all? Keeping displays in sync with a main wallpaper and taskbar?

Solved (the taskbar issue potentially). And, holy cow… this is why I love KDE since version 3.

  1. Show Panel Configuration (in right click menu on panel)
  2. Clone Panel
  3. Arrows appear on all displays (choose the arrow on the display you want the taskbar)

This is why I stick with KDE. It gets me.

Not sure if its exactly what I was looking for but it’s better than setting up a taskbar from scratch <3

Yes, that’s what I do. The downside of that is if you change something in one taskbar you’ll have to do the clone process again for each display. Afaik there is no feature in the works for an “attached / synced clone” as in a clone that stays synced with the primary panel.

@reisub thanks for confirming this. It’s better than doing it from scratch but I was hoping it would stay in sync.
