I’ve been using KDE forewer and it’s my favourite DE, still I think that the way of handling desktop icons leaves room for improvement. Every now and then, something happens that makes KDE plasma forget all icon positions and puts them all at the top of the screen, forcing me to sort them again.
Reasons can be different. Usually it’s changing screen resolution or order of screens, just recently I tried something with the desktop configuration. Every time something like that happens, KDE won’t recover if you revert the settings. All the positions of desktop icons are lost.
Of course, I understand, that with certain changes, it might not be possible to maintain the stored positions of the desktop icons. But why would KDE clean all the information from plasmashellrc without creating a backup at least?
