I’m using Cachy OS, Plasma 6.6.5. When I rename a folder on the desktop to “Sad folder,” it disappears. For example, if I rename it to “sad folder,” it doesn’t disappear. Is this a bug or an easter egg?
It’s not a Plasma bug or Easter egg - so ask in CachyOS forum.
Open “Dolphin” →click in the grey area to the right of the path displayed in the “Location Bar”, delete whatever is there and enter:
- “desktop:/”
With Dolphin as the active Window displaying the user’s Desktop, type <Shift+F4> → press the “Shift” and “F4” keys simultaneously.
A Konsole window will open → enter “pwd” at the Shell Prompt.
Check with the Shell Command “ls -l” if the affected directory is in any form whatsoever still present in the user’s Desktop directory.
- Alternatively, in the Dolphin view of the Desktop, either press <Alt+.> or, select “Show Hidden Files” in the “View” Menu.
You could also check if, the Desktop Folder “Sad folder” has been moved to the “Trash” folder → if, there’s anything in “Trash” a “Trash Bin” Icon should appear in the KDE Plasma Panel.
