Windows’ shows the recognised text as an overlay on the screenshot, so that the user can easily select the text he wants. ( https://www.pcworld.com/article/2070861/windows-snipping-tool-gets-text-recognition-for-screenshots.html ) But Spectacle seems to just copy all recognised text into the clipboard. This is better than nothing, but the user now has to paste the text into an intermediary text editor and find the part of the text he needs.
As a side note, you can directly edit the copied text in the clipboard widget:

Something similar to this was brought up in the MR to add OCR and we agreed that it would be much nicer to have. However, it would take a while to develop and the MR was already quite large, so we agreed that we should merge a more basic implementation of OCR first. I’d still like to see something like this in Spectacle, but there’s no timeline for when a similar implementation will be developed.
