I am an old guy who has been doing this video thing for a long time. My first camcorder was an 8mm giant. When I travelled with friends, they would gasp when I brought it out. Back then, editing was an expensive proposition relative to software (and I paid $2,500.00 for the camcorder).

Now, I’m looking for ways to stabilize my little digital camcorder . . . it is so small. I used to edit using Vegas Video when it was sold by Sonic Foundry out of Wisconsin. Now, I can get open source applications that are just as capable if not more so.

I feel fortunate to have lived sufficiently long to function in today’s modern age. Camcorders are better and much smaller. Editing with today’s applicaton is a breeze (and my editing software is FOSS!).
