(KDE 6) Screen Timing Out Despite Set To Not Time Out

Im not sure what else to do, Im no computer whiz but can do basic basic stuff & can do as Im told. So, I have set all the settings that I would have set on KDE 5 to prevent screen time outs on KDE 6 but I still keep getting a black screen after about 10 mins or so. I found out about xdg-screensaver & when i run
xdg-screensaver status
it comes back as enabled & for whatever reason there is no disable option that Im aware of besides
xdg-screensaver suspendWindowID
which as to my knowledge is only a temporary solution. Still I tried & when I run
xdg-screensaver suspend 0x584
i get back
Protocol error: bad 3 (Window); Sequence Number 7 Opcode (20, 0) = GetProperty Bad resource 0 (0x0) at -e line 16.
I just want to keep my screen from turning off. I must be missing something obvious or something cause it cant be this difficult to turn off a simple screensaver…can it?
For the record, I have double checked that the following settings have been set to as follows…

  • System Settings>Security & Privacy>Screen Locking
    1. Lock Screen Automatically=Never

  • System Settings>Power Management>
    1. After Period Of Inactivity=Never
    2. When Power Button Pressed=Do nothing
    3. Turn Off Screen= Never

Under screen locking do you have “Lock After Waking From Sleep” unchecked? Have you tried doing the opposite with those settings, applying, and then reverting them?
