Never had a dash on my Desktop
Now I do!
And I can get no satisfaction of it…
Want to know what it is

looks like a terrible copy of a windows theme.
switch back to breeze.

So, switching to the default theme or application style messes up your panels and desktop? Myeah, sounds like a bit more than some dash.
you said you can move it… how do you move it?
it’s not part of the cursor?
Hovering the cursor over the dash changes the cursor. I can grab the dash and move it around the Desktop. Right click or middle has no effect.
Since you are using x11, you can try to run xwininfo, the mouse will turn into a cross and select that “dash” to get the information.
