A grammatical corrector for KDE?

You may know that the grammatical corrector “Language Tool” is now paying off.

Is there a grammatical proofreader project for KDE applications, especially kmail?

LanguageTool can be installed locally, for particular purposes via Docker:

Alternatively, for French, there is Grammalecte which integrates with KMail.

You can use Language Tool in KMail.

It’s hidden in the settings (under plugins IIRC) and the implementation is a bit inconvenient, but it works.

Would be great if it waa integrated KDE-wide as Sonnet, of course.

That is not my point. KDE should have a grammatical corrector as there is a translator, usable by KDE applications.

I agree. It would be great if it was part of KDE Sonnet already (or something next to Sonnet, but similarly integrated).

So KDE has localization tooling and online translation interfaces.

What dismays me is that, often, Native English speakers are often the worst offenders.

It’s good that we’re discussing about the problem, with many people thinking they don’t have nothing to say…

I’m actually surprised that it hasn’t been brought up before - especially as it seems that so many people now copy/paste many of their responses and posts after having them checked/composed in some AI lightning box :wink:

It truly would elevate the KDE experience and make it more professional too.
