I need help turning x11 back on in the latest version of kde plasma, my old beater of a laptop can’t handle the heavy load that wayland puts on it, and it’s also a nvidia laptop too and nvidia works better with x11.
This will depend on your distro. Some have the X11 session installed already, others will need a package installed.
If you already have it, you will see it as an option in your SDDM login screen. Click on the session on the lower left side of the screen to see what sessions you have available.
I am running Garuda Linux, it’s still got it installed to run x11 apps alongside wayland, but I wanna run just x11 because my laptop isn’t that good, I got a new computer coming in the mail that I can use wayland on that, but till then, I gotta run it in x11 mode to ensure it runs as fast as possible.
Hi,
I found this solution
Garuda && Manjaro are Arch Linux base distro ![]()
I’m gonna take a look now, majaro might not be the same os, but it’s still based on arch.
that worked, thanks ![]()
Enjoy !
Have a good day.
