Adjusting Color of Panel Shadow?

As far as I can see, there is no gui way to adjust panel shadow?

In Plasma 5, Niccolo explained why there is no shadow at all on floating panels. But for the others, it’s just plain black, as well as for KRunner, the application launcher, pop-out of the system tray, and the volume pop up (center of screen when you change the volume).

In Plasma 6, there’s a plain black shadows for all panels, as well as for KRunner, the application launcher, pop-out of the system tray, and the volume pop up (center of screen when you change the volume).

This prevents a consistent look when you use, for instance, whitish shadows for your window decoration.

  1. Is there a config-file way to change these shadows?

  2. It’s an idea, a feature request, to implement a gui so that there is one setting, not only for windows’ colors, but all shadows’ color (right now only available for Color&Themes>Window Decoration).

Would it be a nice feature to edit the color of all shadows in a GUI?

  • No, it suffices to edit window decoration shadows
  • Yes, this would improve the overall aesthtics of my desktop

Black (smaller shadows on application launcher) and white colors (also of RIP latte-dock) together:

There’s no such thing as a gui for the shadow. You either edit the svg or you use a shadowless panel. A universal shadow might be an idea but personally I have no need for it. Also, keep in mind you’d also need a setting to disable a panel shadow yes/no. Especially if it’s at the top. I don’t use titlebars at all and a maximized window with a shadow on top would look ugly as f. And I use Klassy window decoration btw, which has more options.
