Three more apps added to the list of “Adoptable Apps”: Konsole, NeoChat, and Kate

Today’s 3 new apps are:
Kid3 - tag all the things! Or at least all your music. Kid 3 provides you with the easiest and fastest way to grab song titles, album data, covers, and so on off of the Internet.
Krusader - manage your files and folders as old fogeys used to, with a classic two-pane browser. Because sometimes some things do not need improving.
Yakuake - Keep your terminal always handy with Yakuake. Just press [F12] and have a full-featured terminal windows pull down from the top of your window.

Yakuake is great! One of the first things I install on a new system.
Lately I keep thnking though if this could be generalized as a KWin feature.
Something like “Move to Drawer” in the window menu which would allow a user to make any window into something that would slide out (from any of the edges).
Asides from shortcuts this could then also be combined with global gestures, e.g. swiping down to “pull Yakuake out”.
Wonder if KWin can already do that in Plasma Mobile

This is a great idea! Especially if you had a drawer of apps that you could configure to launch on boot and to switch which is your drawer app.
For example, with the drawer opening from the top with a keystroke (Like Meta + ` ) but with a keystroke like Meta + Shift + Right/Left to switch which app is active.
So you could have a terminal, a browser, an LLM, etc. accessible in the drawer.
plasma already has all that.
you can save a session so that it always opens with those apps open
you can also open any pinned app in the task manager with it’s own separate shortcut
The point is for it to be in the slide down drawer though
i guess i’m not picturing it.
