After booting without log-in the screen never goes in standby

Hello,
if you boot the PC and don’t log-in, the screen never goes in standby. I’ve tested it on KaOS and Fedora KDE.

I suppose it’s due to the power management not loading user-specific power settings, but I think there should be a standard timeout (e.g. 10 minutes).
This will help to preserve the hardware (the monitor won’t stay on with a still image for a long time) and reduce the power consumption.

Can someone please test it and let me know what do you think?

Moreover, it won’t suspend your system, draining your laptop battery.

That’s a bit annoying, especially when you perform OS updates with a reboot, as you have to return and check the progress.
And then login once the login screen appears, so that regular power management can do its job.

You are right. I didn’t thought about the automatic standby, but this is another main issue that must be fixed
