Two weeks ago (or so) i used KDE Linux the first time.
All fine.
Now i give it a go with a fresh install after some distro hopping ![]()
I try a 24th and 25th september image and the usb stick boot…and install runs fine..
And then: no boot device. (secure boot deactivated/activated)
Any idea or should i try another image?
Sounds bad. If it works with a 09-23 image, please to report the issue on Issues · KDE Linux / KDE Linux · GitLab, ideally with some logs too.
Thanks for trying KDE Linux, and I’m sorry this happened!
Because i couldn´t edit the post, i delete and make a new one.
Try now the 09-23 image.
After install: insert boot media. Installed Debian 13 before boot without issues.
Sry, could not edit the post above.
Edit: Try another usb stick(sometime its weird with sticks more than 8GB) and another SSD.
No chance, it install fine but don´t boot.
Its an “old“ asrockl H81m-hds. Of course deactivated secure boot.
Debian 12/13 and several other linux works fine and win11 too.
Just KDE Linux seems to have a problem.
(don´t sure if i install a few weeks ago on another newer computer or this one…but if debian 13 works fine KDE linux should boot fine too)
And i can´t get some logs.
Edit: is it possible that my nvidia gt710 is the problem?
Chromium based browsers did only work atm with --disable-gpu --ozone-platform=wayland flag.
Maybe KDE Linux start anything initramfs things or the kernel hangs up on boot.
The old NVIDIA card is definitely at least one of the problems. See
Crazy…prop. driver could not load at runtime and thats maybe the problem.
All other computer are ryzen APU driven ![]()
Well i have to find a cheap amd card.
I forget about the onboard gfx.
Next try…
Specs: ASRock H81M-HDS with an Intel G3240(with onboard gfx) and 16GB Ram + 512SSD.
Is my CPU to old? (the nvidia card is no longer inside the computer)
- use the latest raw image from 09-25
- csm active and secure boot deactivated
- boot into KDE Linux Live system
- install it on a ssd → delete all and use entire drive
- reboot: “Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key“
Here a screenshot after installing before i reboot.
I hope i can found a solution to install it on my good old computer ![]()
For anyone else following along, this is No boot possible with the last three .raw after installation (23, 24, 25 - 09) (#369) · Issues · KDE Linux / KDE Linux · GitLab.
