Yesterday I updated my KDE Neon like I do once a week and shut down the pc. Today after boot, I logged in into a black screen with just the mouse pointer available.
I restartet the PC again, updated again over Ctrl+Alt+F3 terminal, reboot, nothing helped.
Removed ~/.config/kde* and ~/.config/kwin. Hasn’t helped.
Tried to start plasmashell over the terminal, but it said something like “could not load the QT platform plugin xcb in “” even thought it was found…”
Now I logged in with X11 instead of wayland and the session started without problems.

Hi - which version of the Nvidia graphics drivers do you have installed? Are you able to try removing and reinstalling them, in case some part of the latest update threw off how they are loading during bootup?
Also, some folks in an existing similar thread found the following steps helpful:
Perhaps give those two steps a try, since they seemed to handle a good number of cases, and see if those work on your device?
I have the latest nvidia driver 560.35.03 because without the properitary driver, the system had multiple other issues. I had Kubuntu 22.04 for 2.5 years on my old computer without any major problems, but now with neon and/or my new computer I am fighting issues any other day.
