Since Thursday, both of my GMail accounts in KMail (one Google Workspace, and one personal) without warning, went to offline status in KMail.
All attempts to connect result in a fleeting notification failed to authenticate additional scopes. Yes, I can still access the accounts from a web browser, and from my Android phone.
Anyone experiencing a similar? Anyone know of a fix?

That’s what I had up until last week, and it isn’t working anymore.
Interesting additional quirk - sending emails (via the SMTP agent) continues to work just fine.
So I tried this tip again. I deleted my app password on the workspace account (the personal account never had an app password) and (re)created an app password for each imap agent. Then this time made sure that each agent was set to “PLAIN” authentication (only acceptable, IMHO, because I’m using IMAP over TLS). This time it worked, and I have access to my emails again. Google would clearly prefer us to use OAUTH (if not passkeys), and that works on the MS EWS agent, so why not for GMail?
