Hello I’m on the most recent fedora kde distribuțion and I frequently play 2 steam games at the same time. For example ballxpit while in queue for dota, my problem is I can’t alt tab between these 2 games without alt tabbing to a different 3rd app or window first. I see the app switcher and not even clicking the other game works. I looked through most settings but nothing seems to help.
Anybody got any ideas? Thanks
Hm.. never tried playing 2 games at once. As for ideas:
- if the “3rd app” is the steam client, you could maybe start the games from it’s system tray icon while the window is closed.
- The task switcher (for which alt-tab is the default shortcut) normally selects the last active window. By holding alt and pressing tab twice, you would select the one active before that, which should also change that order.
- when the “3rd app” is selected, open the window menu (default: Alt-F3, I think, or by right click on its title bar), then either…
- move it to another virtual desktop: → Desktops → move to… (or by shortcut, configured in systemsettings → keyboard → shortcuts → window management)
- configure the switcher to ignore it: more actions → configure special window settings. There click “Add property” (bottom left) → Skip switcher (Force; Yes)
If none of that works: what exactly is the “3rd app”?
