Amarok custom sorting

Hi community,

I hope you are doing well.

I’ve been recently trying to find out a music player that supports custom sorting of music.

All my music library songs have metadata written into them, so apart from the classic categories of name, year, album etc. I also have the following: Subgenre and Style.

My question is, is there a way I can add these custom sorting categories to Amarok player’s menu?

I don’t know how to script if that’s even an option at hand. Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Hi,
sorting categories cannot be freely customized, but I think you could achieve your request at least partially by setting subgenres and styles as labels; the labels can be then used as one sorting level.
