Any idea why flathub installation via browser does not work? (KIO Error: Could not read file flatpak+https://dl.flathub.org/...)

On Fedora 42 KDE Edition, when I try click a link on a website to install a Flathub application, I get a window titled “KIO Error” saying:

Could not read file flatpak+https://dl.flathub.org/repo/appstream/org.nickvision.tubeconverter.flatpakref.

I am using Vivaldi as a browser. Firefox does not display the same error but does not launch an install either. Both send me to this page: Install “Parabolic” | Flathub (I am trying to install Parabolic but it is the same for all Flathub)

I have xdg-desktop-portal-kde installed, flatpakref is associated with Discover (and when I download a flatpakref and double click it, Discover launches). AI told me to associate “application/x-flatpakref” with Discover in Firefox preferences, but I do not seem to be able to make Firefox add any MIME type. This feels like something that is expected to work out of the box, any idea what the problem might be?

This is due to 507402 – Add support for flatpak+https://. It was just fixed today. The fix is currently scheduled to appear in Plasma 6.5.0.
