Apllication Launcher icon only favorites

Hi,. Been using plasma just shy of 20 years. Can’t live without. I’ve switched to rolling release opensuse TW (slowroll). And I don’t update often, but when I do sometimes I lose my plasma configuration. It’s annoying, but whatever. I usually just redo my setup. But there’s one thing I cannot stand seeing is an Application Launcher favorites with an icon & text. I somehow have managed to remove favorites text in the past and for the life of me I can never remember what I need to do to get that d*&n text removed next to the icon in favorites.

You mean the underline text for entries in the App launcher kicker ?
If you right click on the plasma icon, you can “Configure the Application Launcher”, on the first window, there is a combo box “Display Application as”, you can pick “Name only” there.

do you mean to be using the application menu instead of the launcher?

the menu does not show text with the favorites icons and the entire thing is more compact than the launcher

right click on the applications launcher and show alternatives.
